YWCA's NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAY PROGRAM (NPP) is dedicated to providing quality programming for children ages 6-12 at various schools and parks in Lethbridge & Coalhurst throughout the summer.
This FREE outdoor program provides a positive and safe environment for children to develop their social, physical and cognitive skills.
Pre-registration is not required - just bring your child to one of the schools on the list below. We'll have you fill out some basic paperwork, and that's it!
NPP leaders are post-secondary students or graduates with a background in education, child/youth care and/or recreational studies. They have many skills and talents that make them outstanding summer program leaders! Training specific to NPP, as well as Criminal Record and Child/Youth Intervention Checks, are done on all NPP employees and volunteers prior to active on-site leadership.
The program will run July 4th - August 17th (Monday-Thursday) at the following locations:
- Mike Mountain Horse School (west Lethbridge)
- Dr. Gerald B. Probe School (west)
- Agnes Davidson School (south)
- Gilbert Paterson (south)
- Park Meadows School (north)
- Galbraith Elementary School (north)
In Coalhurst, the program will run at Miner's Memorial Park.
(NOTE: Although the program runs from 9:00am to 3:30pm Monday-Thursday), there is no supervision over the lunch hour and children must leave the NPP site for that hour.)
